Our institute is dedicated to the research and development of innovative technologies for the electrification of public transport as well as the optimization of drivetrain systems and vehicle operational efficiency. In particular, our work focuses on intelligent energy supply concepts, vehicle condition assessment, and the development of sustainable propulsion solutions.
A key research topic is the enhancement of the operational flexibility of electric buses through the development of intelligent parameter sets that take into account factors such as state of charge, passenger load, and external conditions. In addition, we conduct research on driver assistance systems and innovative energy transfer solutions in order to further improve operational efficiency.
In the field of vehicle condition assessment, we develop wireless systems for monitoring parameters such as vehicle load, inclination, and vibrations. These technologies contribute to increased safety and efficiency and can be flexibly integrated into various vehicle types.
Furthermore, we design user-centered services to promote electric mobility. The goal is to increase the attractiveness of electric vehicles through innovative offerings and thereby foster the acceptance of sustainable mobility solutions.
Another research focus lies on the development of highly efficient drivetrains that, through a high level of integration, conserve resources, reduce operating costs, and extend vehicle service life.
Overall, our institute makes a significant contribution to the advancement of sustainable mobility concepts and to shaping a future-oriented public transport system.
