Description

The project “Digital Battery Laboratory for Academic Teaching – DiBaLa” focuses on innovative methods and content for higher education related to battery technologies. The integration of e-learning and VR technologies enables an interactive learning experience that closely simulates working in a real battery laboratory, while being significantly more cost-effective and easier to integrate into existing courses. One of the main objectives is to provide students with comprehensive academic training for future research and work in the energy and mobility sectors, thereby equipping them to address current and future societal challenges through technological innovation. As part of the project, current trends in digital teaching and battery research are analyzed, and didactic methods are developed that allow continuous assessment of learning progress and foster information and knowledge exchange between students and lecturers. The integration of visual and video materials as well as VR-based experiments offers practical insights and enables the realization of virtual laboratory experiences. A testing phase, including evaluations with active student participation, ensures that the needs and preferences of students are taken into account. With the development of a sustainability and transfer strategy, the long-term goal is to establish the didactic methods and digital teaching content at other universities.
